OPIE Software and Orthocare Innovations, LLC are pleased to announce a collaboration to offer clinical outcomes data collection, analysis and reporting capabilities to orthotic and prosthetic providers. This partnership integrates Orthocare Innovation's advanced O&P technologies into the OPIE Electronic Medical Records software.
The Companies anticipate that integration of their respective software and hardware technologies will drive enhanced value to practitioners and patients through simplified data collection for outcomes-based studies. Initially, the focus of the collaboration is to incorporate the Compas™ system (Computerized Prosthesis Alignment System) functionality into OPIE.
“Payers are requiring data-driven, objective evidence in support of payment for O&P clinical care and technologies,” commented Orthocare Innovation's CEO Doug McCormack. “By capturing clinical data from Compas™, Smart Pyramid™ and StepWatch™ directly into patient electronic medical records, this partnership will offer providers solutions to meet the demands of payers, while also improving clinical outcomes.”
“With over 600 O&P practitioners using OPIE for all of their clinical documentation, it makes perfect sense to integrate the Compas™ system directly into the workflow for optimum collection of outcomes data,” said Paul E. Prusakowski, CPO, FAAOP, CEO of OPIE Software.
OPIE and Orthocare Innovations will demonstrate this enhanced capability at the AOPA General Assembly in Seattle in the exhibit hall and in a technical workshop on Wednesday, September 23, 2009
