Orthocare Innovations' Jay Martin named Oklahoma's 2008 Innovator of the Year

Jay Martin, Director of Orthocare Innovations' Advanced Systems Group in Oklahoma City, was named Innovator of the Year for 2008 by the Journal Record, Oklahoma's largest business newspaper. Martin was selected from a field of forty finalists from throughout the state.
Prior to joining Orthocare, Martin, a certified prosthetist, and a team of engineers with specialties ranging from electronics to materials science, achieved success in developing anatomical interface components through incorporation of new designs and unique materials such as nanotechnology. A member of the DARPA Revolutionizing Prosthetics 2009 initiative, and the winner of several state grants for the development of projects, Jay and his team work to integrate advanced technology into prosthetic devices.
Martin was selected from a field of finalists with specialties ranging from healthcare to education. "The ability to improve the quality of life for amputees is a responsibility that my team and I take very seriously' commented Martin in response to the award.
