The Newton™ provides active alignment functionality in real time, enabling prostheses to adapt to the patient’s function and environmental changes during gait. The Newton™ Self-Aligning Component is the first in a series of lower limb components to build on Orthocare Innovations’ patent-pending Smart Pyramid™ technology.

Advanced Actuation and Control Algorithms for Real-World Use

Newton™ provides the wearer with autonomous accommodation of environmental factors during ambulation. Accurately and discretely, the Newton™ adjusts in real-time to slight variations in terrain and gait abnormalities, reducing excessive torques on the residual limb. Its unique actuators fluidly alter alignment to optimize the socket reaction forces.
